Our
Story

David Potter:

Since the age of 12, my journey into the world of bodybuilding has been fueled by a passion ignited by my first encounter with a bodybuilder magazine featuring the legendary Arnold Schwarzenegger. Growing up in a small town, I played various sports, but lacked the guidance of knowledgeable bodybuilders.

In my 20s, I ventured into rodeo'ing, only to retire in 2012 due to post-concussion syndrome. It was during this challenging time that bodybuilding played a crucial role in my recovery, thanks to my understanding of the significance of nutrition and brain health.

At the close of 2017, I made the life-altering decision to pursue my true passion for bodybuilding, achieving remarkable success with over 14 trophies in six competitions within a single year and securing a spot in the nationals in less than twelve months.

I've dedicated myself to a lifelong journey of physical excellence, embarking on this path since the age of 12 when I eagerly devoured my first muscle magazine. My training regimen spans a diverse range of disciplines, including sports-specific conditioning for baseball, rugby, boxing, kickboxing, Muay Thai kickboxing, and military schooling with a focus on combat exercises from ages 14 to 18. In my 20s, I honed my skills in jujitsu and Greco-Roman wrestling.

My journey of self-improvement extends beyond physical prowess. I hold Level 3 first aid certification, Canfitpro certification, and am recognized as a Rehabilitation Specialist, Lifestyle Coach, and Nutrition Coach under Kathy Personal Training.

During my early 20s, I fearlessly rode bareback horses and faced down bulls in the BCRA rodeo association until the age of 25, when I made the difficult decision to retire due to post-concussion syndrome. Undeterred, I continued to expand my knowledge through the study of Kung Fu, delving into the "Encyclopedia of Bodybuilding" by the legendary Arnold Schwarzenegger and absorbing the insights from "The Science of Resistance Training" by Doug Brignole.

Then, in 2019, I met Kathy, and everything changed. In a remarkably short span, I fell deeply in love with her – she embodied everything I had envisioned in a partner since I was 18.

Our journey together took an exciting turn as I encouraged Kathy to pursue her own competitive aspirations, though I believe she was destined for it, with or without my influence. Like me, Kathy has excelled in the fitness industry, amassing over 10 trophies across four bodybuilding shows.

Constantly staying abreast of the latest science and training techniques, we find joy in collaborating to provide the absolute best outcomes for our clients. Together, we strive to deliver unparalleled results for anyone who entrusts their fitness journey to either one of us.

Kathy:

With over three decades of personal training experience in 100 Mile House, I've achieved certifications from reputable institutions such as BCRPA, CFES, and ISSA. I hold a specialized Certificate in Glute Training from ISSA and am currently pursuing an Exercise Therapy certification with the same organization.

A proud resident of 100 Mile for over 50 years, I have actively participated in the community's sports scene. I played Minor Hockey in 100 Mile, engaged in men's rec hockey/beer league/old-timers activities, and competed in female hockey until the age of 40. My accomplishments include being part of the AA Kamloops Rangers, securing Western Canadian Champions and runners-up titles for three consecutive years, and achieving provincial championship status with AAA BC Outback.

My involvement extends to national levels, having represented Team BC in National Championships and undergoing tryouts for Team Canada, even earning a top-40 rating in the 1998 Olympic Team Canada tryouts. Beyond the playing field, I contributed as a referee in minor hockey for a decade, reaching the highest level at level 3. I also took pride in coaching minor hockey, with a notable highlight being coaching at the BC Winter Games.

In addition to my love for hockey, I've pursued other sporting interests, including skiing, soccer, fastball, and golf. My dedication to personal development and sports excellence continues to drive me forward on this remarkable journey.
